Blueberry Farm Kids Book Idea Comes to Life

What is the book about?
The Blueberry Farm Kids Book is a limited edition Coffee Table book that will feature the children who have spent a special part of their summer on the Blueberry Farm.  It will also include Organic Environmental Activities and cherished Recipes taught in the Earth Camp program.

How do I get my child into the book?
100 children will be given the opportunity to be involved in the project.  Entry will be decided on a first come, first served basis.  The first to register and pay their fee will get the slots.

What do I get and what is it going to cost me?
Your child will receive a 1 hour photo session by the multi award winning team at Mandi Lynn Photography on her 26 Acre natural light studio located on the Blueberry Farm.  Your child will be involved in an activity that will be featured in the book as well as having beautiful portraits taken for art for the family home.

In order to raise money for one of Mandi's favourite charities, the Cheboche Trust. Mandi has donated  $50,000.00 worth of vouchers (100 - $500.00 vouchers).   These $500.00 vouchers will be available to purchase on a first come first served basis for $50.00 each.  With a limit of one voucher per family.  The voucher will cover the cost of sitting fee $220.00, plus the image and layout work necessary to place the image in the book $200.00.  This will leave $80.00 left over which can be applied to purchase of other products or prints from Mandi Lynn Photography.  For those families with multiple children that they would like to have featured they can buy separate special $50.00 sibling voucher which will be donated to the trust and will enable the other children to have a photoshoot and be featured in the book as well.

When will it take place?
Photographing will take place over January February March and April.  There are 25 vouchers available for each month.

How do I make sure that my child doesn't miss out?
To register your child for one of the 100 spaces please go to the following link.
Once the 100 spaces have been filled we will begin to take a waiting list which will also be the waiting list for next years updated version of the book.

A Dream is Coming True

What is this all about anyway?
Ever since we started the Earth Camp 3 years ago I thought that we should write a book about it.  A book that showed all of the cool things that we do on the farm with the kids to help them learn about the environment and that actually featured the clever and oh so curious kids that we get to hang out with in the summer.  We are passionate about New Zealand, passionate about the Earth, and want very much to save it for these kids grand kids, so we think a great place to start is to share what this farm has been kind enough to teach us.   So this year we are going to do it!  Welcome to the first entry in our blog about the book in the making.  This is a book for Kiwi Kids, featuring Kiwi Kids, and written by a Kiwi by choice.  The cool thing about this book is that it will not just benefit Kiwi kids, but as a way of showing our appreciation to one of our founding members of the Earth Camp, we will be donating a portion of the proceeds to pay for a teacher for a Sherpa Village in Nepal.

It is a book about our World Famous in Wellington Earth Camp

You will roll the soil through your fingers, chase butterflies through our meadows, smell the heady deliciousness of our sweet peas, taste the hot fresh organic baking made with love in every bite, create a master piece of all natural art, hear the sounds of the forest and sing a song in return....it is going to be an absolutely wonderful feast for the senses.
The perfect excuse to roll down a grassy hill and settle into a soft patch of green with your favourite silly sausage.

This Book Will Educate a Village!!!!
Those that are familiar with our farm will know that it has become such a wonderful place thanks in a large part to Nima Sherpa, the wonderful Nepalese Sherpa who left his village in Nepal and brought his family here and helped me to  realize our dreams at the  Blueberry Farm.  He is wonderful and has taught me so much so as a thank you for his kindness and support, and also repay his village for the kind loaning of such an important member of their community.  I am going to donate the proceeds from the sitting fees to help pay for the salary of a teacher so that the children of the village don't have to make the decision to leave their families and move a three days walk away just to attend Intermediate.
